Tonka BeanDipteryx odorata is a beautiful flowering tree species in the pea family (Fabaceae), often referred to as “cumaru” or “Brazilian teak”. Native to northern South America, the tree produces seeds known as tonka beans. Because of their high coumarin content, the beans have a powerful aroma that gives them a sweet vanilla-like scent.
Vanilla AbsoluteVanilla planifolia is a species of the Vanilla genus in the orchid family and is found in several regions, including Mexico, Central America, Colombia and Brazil. This evergreen climbing plant has a high vanillin content, making it a popular source of vanilla flavouring.
